Illusion Theatre Project T.R.U.S.T.

“teaching and reaching using students and theater”

Illusion Theater is a professional theater company based in Minneapolis, MN.  In 1993, the Lincoln Public Schools and the Lincoln High School Theatre Department created a partnership with Illusion Theater to use the plays they had written that use theater to educate about sexual abuse prevention, bullying prevention, teen issues and violence prevention.  The cooperative program was named “Project T.R.U.S.T.”

T.R.U.S.T. is an acronym for “teaching and reaching using students and theater.”  At LHS, The class meets 7th and 8th period during the first semester.  This two hour block of time allows us time to travel to local elementary, middle and high schools to perform.

Project T.R.U.S.T. is made up of Molly Thomas, Project Director & Artistic Director, LHS Theater Department, and 10-12 professionally trained student actors in grades 9-12.  The student actors are chosen through an audition process held in February.

Project T.R.U.S.T. performs for an average of 10,000 – 14,000 students each year.
